The Obscene Phone Call

My family and I were just sitting down to eat dinner when the phone rang. Hello? I answered. The voice on the other end was that of a young male, he began swearing and making obscene comments. "Wait a minute, don't hang up I said, God loves you and Jesus can set you free, don't hang up!. I'm a Christian and the Lord can set you free from this spirit of lust, He wants to help you, will you let Him?"

There was a moment of silence on the other end. I must have startled him. I took the phone to the other room and continued to talk. "Jesus loves you," I said. "It's OK, don't be embarrassed." The young man on the other end began to open up. "I don't know why I do this, I can't stop. Can you help me?" "Yes, I replied, Jesus can set you free; let me pray for you right now." “Father I thank you for this young man and in Jesus name I know you put us together so he could hear of your love. Satan I bind you in Jesus name and I command the spirit of lust and perversion to come out of this man and let him go!" There was a sigh on the other end as the Spirit of the Lord brought liberty into his life.

"What's your name," I asked? With a new found freedom and peace he began to tell me all about himself and even where he lived!
I began to tell him the Good News, and then I asked him if he wanted to receive Jesus Christ into his life, he exclaimed yes! And soon we were both rejoicing in the Lord. “Your name is now written down in the Lamb’s book of life” I told him. I encourage him to attend a good church and hung up praising the lord for what He had done.

When I returned to the Dinner table my wife asked, "Who was that honey?” "Oh just an obscene phone call, but he repented and accepted the Lord."

Lord; help me to remember always the power that is in the name of Jesus and to make the most of every opportunity to speak the truth in love and to see the devil defeated again and another soul saved by the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Lord, help me to remember you have empowered me to not just witness but to BE a Witness.
