No matter how well we pursue spiritual disciplines, it seems that each of us, sooner or later, runs into a wall of some sort that we cannot break through.
Because we are born into a broken world, we are all in need of healing. People come to Seattle Revival Center from all over the world to receive ministry and healing from life’s hurts. Because spiritual, physical, and psychological abuses are so commonplace, these are the issues where we direct our focus. We have various healing ministries available and we are here to help.
I was being interviewed by a Christian publication when the writer asked, “Cleansing Stream is a deliverance ministry, right?” Although I had not anticipated my response, I said, “No, it is a discipleship ministry. We disciple people in the ministry of deliverance.” There is a big difference.
Deliverance must not be looked at as a once-in-a-life-time event but as part of the ongoing sanctification process. An individual can be instantly set free from a particular bondage by the power of God. However, he or she, while in this earthly body, is meant to continue advancing in Christ-likeness.
So how does deliverance apply to Christians? The Bible says, “Do not give the devil a foothold (a place)” (Ephesians 4:27, NIV). As Christians, it is possible to give the demonic a place in our lives. When we experience the life-changing power of salvation like the Hebrew people found out, the land—our lives—is legally ours, but it needs a bit of clearing out! The Holy Spirit, through the Word of God, opens our eyes and we can embrace truth, repent and reject the lies. Armed with His truth and authority, we can remove the enemy from our land.
My deep desire is that the local church be fully equipped to bring every believer into the freedom that Christ paid the price for them to experience and enable them to keep it. The thought of a church of people equipped and functioning in such a manner can be scary for many pastors. But, what if it were done decently and in order? What if it could be established Scripturally and maturely? As President of Cleansing Stream Ministries, I can say that this is our mission. Thousands of pastors and churches in the United States and around the world have discovered that this necessary ministry can function in the local church with great success.
May I invite you to check into our Seminars—beginning with our Basic Seminar—to see if they would be something God would have you utilize to bring healing, deliverance and discipleship for yourself and your church?
