DARREN STOTT
This past Tuesday, November 16th 2010, as our church's intercessors and pastors were praying for churches and pastors in our region I sensed that the Lord was beginning to appear to, and commission Gideons throughout this region, and perhaps abroad. I feel that we have been in a Judges 6:11 season, a time of divine disclosure (God revealing himself to key leaders),
Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites.
We have a lot of disenfranchised leaders who feel powerless, and are hiding their valuables while maintaining a defensive position. Leaders who are working hard; striving and beating out what is in their winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites. It is like every time we start to reap a harvest the enemy comes and consumes it, just like the Midianites. Have you felt this?
God tells Gideon that he loves him, and that he is with him, and that now is the time to go from playing defense to playing offense. It's like God is saying, "Hey, here is the ball, go and score!"
I feel this is what God is going to do in this next season: That the King has been raising up nobody's; disenfranchised closet leaders, and changing their character, posture, and expectation. This next phase will be the fun part – a season of reckoning, retribution, and execution of justice by the might of God through "closet" commanders and generals with their small armies.
After the Lord established Gideon he had twenty two thousand people to work with – the Lord only needed 300! Three hundred soldiers divided into three brigades, consisting of one hundred in each platoon.
The 1990's gave birth to the mega church and success for church leaders was redefined. We were told that only General's with large armies could made an impact for the Kingdom. As we prayed I sensed that the Lord was going to release Gideon's with small armies to sneak into the night, take the enemy by surprise, and acquire territory for the Kingdom. The ramifications of these victories will catastrophic for the enemy and radically significant for the Kingdom of God.
Hope this is a blessing to you!
